Yorkshire Vehicle Safety Manufacturer Launches New Digital Platform Showcasing UK-Built Innovation

Published on 10 Mar 2026

SCC Advanced Fleet Safety has launched a new digital platform and introduced X-Wire, its proprietary technology simplifying safety system integration for modern fleets.

SCC Advanced Fleet Safety, a family-run British manufacturer with decades of industry experience, has unveiled a new digital platform designed as a practical technical resource for fleet operators, engineers and compliance teams. Built to address the questions operators are increasingly asking around safety, installation, integration and regulatory alignment, the platform provides clear, detailed information to help fleets and operators understand their options and make informed long-term decisions.

Founded in 1980 by Joe Stewart, SCC is now in its second generation of family ownership, led by his sons and co-Managing Directors Paul and Ian Stewart. Building on decades of industry experience, the company has increased its investment in UK-led product development and domestic manufacturing capability, bringing key elements of design and production back to Britain.

As a member of Made in Britain, SCC is committed to supporting domestic engineering capability at a time when much of the sector continues to rely heavily on overseas supply chains. This approach provides greater control over quality, resilience and product development, whilst reinforcing the company’s commitment to British manufacturing.

Managing Director Ian said:

Fleet operators are under increasing pressure to improve safety, reduce risk and demonstrate compliance, whilst managing cost and operational complexity. We felt it was important that our website properly reflected who we are today as a business. We are not just an equipment supplier, but an engineering-led UK manufacturer and solutions provider developing practical, reliable safety technology.”

The new website also introduces X-Wire, SCC’s proprietary safety communication technology, developed in response to longstanding challenges around complex vehicle wiring and installation inefficiencies.

As modern fleet vehicles incorporate increasing layers of safety technology, traditional wiring architectures have become more complex, time-consuming and increasingly vulnerable to failure. X-Wire has been engineered to address this directly by reducing installation complexity, improving integration efficiency and minimising potential failure points within the vehicle, whilst improving usability for installers and end users. The result is a more streamlined approach to deploying advanced safety systems across modern fleets.

The relaunch reflects a broader strategic direction for SCC, focused on:

  • UK-led product development
  • Engineering-driven innovation
  • Simplified, scalable fleet safety solutions
  • Long-term partnership with operators and bodybuilders

With fleet operators facing increasing regulatory scrutiny and growing vehicle complexity, clarity around safety system integration has become more critical than ever.

With regulatory requirements such as DVS and FORS, and evolving fleet safety standards continuing to tighten, SCC’s emphasis remains on delivering dependable systems that meet compliance demands whilst remaining commercially practical for operators.
