Fleetclear targets high-risk behaviour with AI Driver Monitoring Solution

Published on 26 Jun 2025

In the latest addition to Fleetclear’s suite of AI-powered fleet safety innovations comes a Driver Monitoring Solution (DMS) that promises to enhance driver safety, reduce accidents and associated costs, and help fleet operators stay compliant

Fleetclear’s DMS employs advanced AI camera technology to continuously monitor driver behaviour in real-time, detecting critical safety risks such as driver fatigue, mobile phone use and non-compliance with seatbelt usage, and alert drivers immediately.

Chris Waller, Chief Technical Officer, Fleetclear said: “The system is designed to detect high risk driver behaviour. For example, if a driver is drowsy, their eyes are off the road, they are interacting with devices or using their mobile phones whilst operating the vehicle. If any of these events occurs the system provides an immediate, in cab audible alert to the driver, enabling them to self-correct potentially dangerous behaviour.”

The system is currently at the Beta Launch phase for testing and feedback with a limited group of users, prior to a wider, general release. It is suitable for fleet operators across all sectors from delivery services, freight and logistics to public transportation, construction and utilities.

Chris added: “The benefits of this system for fleet operators are manyfold. It equips them to improve driver safety, performance and accountability, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce accidents and subsequent insurance premiums, as well as gain complete fleet visibility through real-time alerts and data analytics.”

The Driver Monitoring Solution (DMS) is available in two hardware options, either as a standalone dashcam unit equipped with an AI-powered camera or as an upgrade on Fleetclear’s existing DVR units enabling current customers to seamlessly integrate the new system into their established infrastructure.

All detected safety events, along with associated video footage and telematics data, can be viewed in the Fleetclear Connect web application. This provides fleet managers with a centralised platform to

review incidents, analyse driver behaviour trends, and gain actionable insights into their fleet's safety performance.
