Chassis Cab Newmarket has officially opened for business, signalling a significant investment into Chassis Cab’s impressive recent growth and operational development in East Anglia. The new premises, strategically relocated from its long-established Universal Garage in Isleham, is the result of significant funding into the business’s future to provide a premium experience for customers and staff.

The move is accompanied by a rebranding of the site to ‘Chassis Cab Newmarket,’ bringing the location in line with the group’s three other sites in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and Fenstanton, and reinforcing a unified identity across the business. The carefully managed transition ensures continuity for staff and retains a strong family business culture for which Chassis Cab enjoys a well-established reputation.

Representing a step-change in capacity and capability, the Chassis Cab Newmarket premises and facilities deliver:

  • A 152% increase in workshop floor space

  • A 128% increase in parts floor space

  • A comprehensive external facelift and new signage

  • New workshop flooring

  • A complete interior refurbishment

  • Modern parts racking across both ground floor and mezzanine

  • Upgraded service lanes and full-length truck pits

  • A fully refurbished MOT bay

Importantly, the new configuration brings all departments together under one roof, replacing the previous arrangement of separate buildings at Isleham. This consolidation is designed to foster improved internal communication and to streamline workflow, supporting a more cohesive and productive working environment.

Robert Baxter, Managing Director at Chassis Cab, said:

“Opening our new site in Newmarket is a proud moment and the result of significant investment and dedication from a highly motivated workforce. The expanded and modernised premises not only benefit our staff through improved capacity and a more cohesive working space, but it also further enhances the service we deliver to our customers. We’re excited for the next chapter in our story and I thank everyone who has contributed to the successful transition.”
